Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS)

We can help your child speak more clearly by practicing the movements between sounds and syllables. Through evidence-based motor speech approaches like DTTC and PROMPT, your child will have the support they need to express themselves with confidence.

Pediatric Dysarthria

Dysarthria can impact your child's ability to share their messages with the world. We incorporate the principles of motor learning and Speech Intelligibility Treatment (SIT) to improve your child's speech sound accuracy, vocal loudness, and rate of speech. Together, we can make sure your child is understood!

Language Delays and Disorders

Whether your child struggles to understand or use language, we can meet them where they are at and support their growth. We work alongside parents to help children learn new words, build sentences, ask/answer questions, follow directions, and interact with others in social settings.

Central to our therapy is a tailored home program, which is developed specifically for each child. We coach parents on how to implement daily practice in meaningful and motivating ways.

Rebeccah M. Smith, M.S., CCC-SLP

Speech-Language Pathologist, Apraxia Specialist

I am a speech-language pathologist with over 22 years of experience working with children from birth to early adulthood. I have worked in early intervention programs, served on multidisciplinary evaluation teams, and provided outpatient therapy services to children and families in Northern Virginia.

I founded K.I.D.S. Therapy Services, PLLC to offer family-centered therapy services to my local community. I am passionate about involving parents in the therapy process and working on goals that matter to each family because that's where the growth happens! I love nothing more than celebrating each child's victories, big or small.
